Ralph and Beatrice DiMattia bring decades of experience and knowledge to their work. They grew up sailing in Boston and the South Shore, and began designing sails for friends and for themselves after being frustrated with what was available locally. Their efforts led to racing wins, and they opened a full service sail and rigging loft in 1970.
Three generations of family
Ralph continues to race competitively on Shamrock Sensation; his son RJ races Wharf Rat, and Bea plans to teach her grandson to sail her Town Class.
The business is family-owned and operated; visitors are greeted enthusiastically by Captain Crunch, the family golden doodle.
